Vern , as we affectionately called him ; was the back bone of our family . The “glue” that in many ways kept us all together. He had a quick wit and articulate manner about him, and c ould find the humor in the most serious of circumstances . Always upbeat, h e loved imparting his words of wisdom on to his siblings, nieces and nephews, who typically walked away laughing at the punchline thrown in at the en d. Vern enjoyed watching sports, playing pool and spending time with his family whenever he could ; especially during the holidays. He also loved music and a good game of spades. His billowing voice and hearty laugh always let you know he had entered any room. Vern was truly our famil y’s bookworm . An intellect with a thirst for knowledge , he could speak in depth on any subject. It would almost feel odd to not notice a coverless hard-cover book tucked under his arm to read . On many family occasions, you w ould often find him playing a serious game of chess with his brother Jessie ; one of his favorite past time activities.
Vern is survived by brother s : Jessie Edwards Jr , Christopher Edwards, Zachary Edwards, Laheem Edwards, and Dorian Edwards. Sisters; Geneithe Edwards , Sabrina Edwards, Natalie Edwards, Ellen Edwards , Ebony Edwards, Verashone Edwards , Nicole Edwards .
