Stella was born June 3rd 1954 in Bronx New York. She is the daughter of Napoleon and Elsie
Zolkos
. Stella had one younger Sister Eileen. She graduated from Tappan Zee high school. Her first job out of High school was at Oasis hotel as a house keeper. After that she worked in Fordham hospital where she began to study nursing. Stella gave up aspirations of being a nurse once she had her children. Later in life Stella worked for first quality maintenance and her last job she worked as a school aide at public school C.E.S 230.
Stella give birth to three Children Germaine in 1976, Darlene in 1988 and Jattik in 1990. She was a devoted mother, and her children were her world.
Stella enjoyed Jazz music, old school r&b, arts and crafts, and swimming. She was a handy woman that wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. She had a deep faith in the catholic region and was an active church member.
Stella can be described as a person that was tuff but sweet. She had a strong fighting spirit with a heart full of compassion. She was a kind gentle, loving caring soul that would give her last to anyone that’s in need.
In 2012 she fell ill which was later diagnosed in 2013 as Multiple Myeloma a rare blood cancer that affects the bones and causes terrible pain. Despite her illness Stella always maintain a positive pleasant attitude. She always managed to keep a smile on her face even though she was going through a great deal of suffering. After a 9 year battle with Multiple Myeloma Stella passed away on 10/3/21.
Stella will go on to join her mother and father Napoleon and Elsie. She leaves behind her sister, 3 children and 5 grandchildren; Cojuan, Jaquan, Daequan, Jalory and jahzeel.
Stella’s giggly, smiley playful warm embrace will be terribly missed by her loved ones and all her friends.
