Sarah Jean Mangum passed away on Thursday May 9 th , 2019 at Calvery Hospital , located in the Bronx New York, after a strong fight with cancer. Sarah w as born on Edisto Island, South Carolina on December 3, 1936. She was the sixth of eight children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius and Celia Campbell . She attended Lar imer Presbyterian High School on Edisto Island, South Carolina and was a member of Edisto Island Presbyterian Church until she moved to New York at the age of 17 in 1953 . Shortly after arriving in New York, Sara h was married to Richard Alton Mangum and they were blessed with four children: Cynthia Renee Mangum- Harden, Kenneth Mangum, Richard Mangum, and Kerry Mangum.  Being a woman of strong faith, Sarah became a member of Rendall Memorial Presbyterian Church and faithfully served the Lord for fifty years. While at Renda l l , Sara h was very active in the church by serving o n the T rustee Board and si ng ing in the choir . Sarah loved the Lord and had great faith in God. She was a kind , selfless, and a very loving person. Sarah worked as an Insurance Analyst at Equitable Life Insurance Company and retired after working for thirty years.  After Sarah ’s retir ement , s he t ravel ed all over the world and spent time visiting wit h her childre n, grandchildren, and great grand children. Sarah also loved music and dancing . She leave s to c herish her precious memories her four children : Cynthia Renee Mangum- Harden, Kenneth Mangum, Richard Mangum, and Kerry Ma ngum ; O ne son-in-law : Will ie D. Harden Jr; three daughter-in-laws : Bernice Mangum, Samantha Mangum, and Kim Mangum ; Twelve grandchildren: Salanecca Mangum, Ke nneth Missouri, Anjelica Harden, Richard Mangum , Bianca Henriques, Alicia Harden-Wilkerson, Kayla Mangum, Catira Mangum, Richie Mangum, Chelsea Mangum, Ke rri Mangum, Kenneth Mangum, Jr. , and six great grand children.

She is survived by two sisters : E mily Campbell and Pearl Pearson, and one brother Samuel Campbell. She is also survived by two sister-in laws- Hattie Campbell , JoAnn Lewis, And many nieces and nephews.
