.
Ruby was a very dependable, loyal and hard working woman and she did everything with love. In addition to her great character Ruby was an excellent cook and had the great fortune and opportunity to prepare a few meals along side Martha Stewart. One thing Ruby knew how to do was love.
She was a very dedicated woman especially when it came to family. As one of the pillars of the family, she hosted a Christmas brunch annually. While working 2 or 3 jobs at a time, Ruby raised 4 sons as a single mom. She taught her sons how to cook, clean, wash, shop and how to protect themselves. She was one to never give up on her family. Even through hard times she always had high hope for her children.
Of the many jobs that Ruby, she worked for the Isoms, BRC and The Salvation Army. She was also interviewed and The New York Times wrote an article about her and her loving work ethic referring to her as “Mama Rube”, a name she was fondly called during her work with a children’s group home because she handled the children as if thy were her own. She handled the young people in her community in the same manner.
Ruby was a woman with class and operated with absolute elegance. She was a force to be reckoned with, a true world changer.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, her 4 sons Stephon (Poochie), Michael (
Peace
O), Demetris (Gov), Richard (Ric). Her 2 sisters Ederina Green and Ernestine Jones, 1 brother Nigel Green, grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. We will honor and cherish this great woman.
