Patrica Ann Collier, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed on April 22, 2020, in New York, after a hard-fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis and COVID-19. Born in Harlem, NY, on December 26, 1956, and raised by her mother Theresa Royal, Patricia was a beam of light to anyone who knew her. She was affectionately known as Patty to family and friends.
As a girl, Patty attended both Catholic and Public Schools and acquired her GED. Patty had roots in both Harlem, NY, and the Bronx, NY, where she met and married her husband, Roger Collier. Together, they built a home and raised a blended family. Patty first entered the workforce as a bank teller at Chase. She would always tell the story of the time when a bank robber slipped her a note, and she threw the note back at the robber. Patty later took the time to stay home with her children and volunteer at their elementary school. She returned to the workforce as an Accounts Receivables Clerk until she retired in 2012.
Forever the optimist, Patty always saw the good in people despite their circumstances, and she always lent a hand to those in need. Patty's compassion was palpable. She had a heart of gold and was a shining example to anyone in her presence. Patty was our angel on earth. Her giving and loving spirit inspired others as she gave so much of herself to make people happy. Her smile, personality, and loving spirit was food for the soul. She exemplified what a woman, mother, wife, sister, and friend should be through her grace, elegance, and strength. Our very own SHERO!
Patty was devoted to her family, and she modeled integrity. She led us all by example, and now without her, we will navigate the world with her teachings and inspiration in our hearts. Patty is predeceased by her mother, Theresa Royal, and sister, Sheila Royal. Patty is survived by her husband, Roger Collier, Sr., her children Michelle Saunders, Dana Jones, and Jarell Collier, her sister Tina Martin, grandchildren Brandon Morrison, Khloe Calderon, and Tori Jones, great-grandson, Ian Morrison, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Patty will be truly missed but will live forever in our hearts!
