Norman Middleton

May 4, 1953 — March 14, 2020

Norman Middleton, 66, passed away from health complications on March 14, 2020. He leaves behind his three children Taji, Leonard, and Shareem; two grandchildren, Dominique and Devonte; his four sisters Shirley, Lorraine, Gloria, and Deborah; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Born and raised in Harlem, New York to Walter and Lucille Middleton, he was an active member of the Harlem community. In his early years, Norman enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and handball for Columbia Grammar Preparatory School. By the age of 19, he joined the United States Army where he studied [meteorology and served as a mailman]. Later on, he attended Fordham University in 1979 where he studied (gained skill sets in) Accounting and Computer Science.

After attending Fordham University, Norman had various jobs from Department of Correction to Environmental clerk, but his greatest passion and career was in fashion. Norman served as a personal stylist to the Harlem community. He offered a smile and advice to help those find the perfect outfit. Anyone who knew Norman knows he was always dressed to impress with a captivating scent that greeted you with love and warmth. He not only took pride in his business, but truly cherished the friends he made along the way. Over the years his expertise and reputation lead him to become the go-to-person for fashion and life advice.

Norman was a loving man who had a passion for family and sports, especially baseball, where his favorite team was the New York Mets. Norman was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects. He adored his sisters to the moon and back. He loved his children and grandchildren with pride and joy.

A man as humble and modest as Norman will always be remembered by those of us who knew him and loved him. Although we will miss him, his smile, his style, his love, we take comfort in the good feelings of our memories. May he rest in everlasting peace.
