Aristhomene Nell Emmanuel Doleyres was born on March 7, 1943 in Gonaives, Haiti to the late Alice LaCruz and Emmanuel Doleyres. He was simply known as Nell Doleyres.
Nell had eight siblings: Denida Doleyres (deceased), Dr. Harry Doleyres (deceased), Marie- Alice Dugazon, Marie- Victoire Luly, Jacques Doleyres (deceased), Gladys Occean, Dr. Garry Auguste and Moise Doleyres (deceased).
He graduated from Law School at Faculte de Droit et des Sciences in Haiti and worked as a professor at Lycee’ Geffrard. In 1968, he emigrated to New York City and worked as an Assistant Vice President at several banks. After working many years in the banking field, he decided to shift his career by devoting his time to helping Haitian immigrants of Queens, NY by becoming the Director of the H.A.U.P Organization (Haitian Americans United for Progress). His passion with helping his people was so great, that he later moved back to Haiti and worked with the Haitian government to make positive changes in the country.
He loved to read and loved to be alone for hours listening to the lyrics and instrumentals of his extensive music collection. He could always be found spending time with family and friends discussing politics or watching world news.
He leaves behind to mourn a host of family and friends. From his two previous marriages, he leaves behind three beautiful daughters; Sandra Doleyres, Nadine Francois (Carlos) and Karin Doleyres (Correy). His grandchildren Mia, Giovanni, Bri’Anna, Ti’Era, Jade, Kayla and Dakota. He also had a special bond with all his nephews and nieces.
