Lyndal Creel

August 14, 1954 — November 29, 2023

Lyndal Creel was born August 14, 1954 to the late Frank
Allen Creel Sr. and the late Thelma Felder Creel in
Charleston S.C. She transitioned from life on November
29, 2023 from Jacobi Medical Center. Lyndal Creel was
raised in Charleston, S.C. until the tender age of 14
years old. She came to New York in 1968 to help her
sister Joyce raise her children, while her and her
husband worked. Lyndal lived in the Bronx New York for
55 years.
Lyndal was educated in Charleston, S.C. in her early
years, and finished High School here in NY graduating
from Morris HS in 1972. Lyndal started her career at
Page Packing Company in 1978 until 1989 when health
issues prevailed and she had to stop working. While
working at Page Packing, Lyndal met James Oweido and
together they had a son. Lyndal only had one child,
Rashaun Kwesi Lamont Creel, who she affectionately
called “Boo”.

Lyndal’s love, her heart, her all in all was her son
Rashaun. What joy and love she received on January 17,
1982 when he was born. As long as she could see
Rashaun or hear is voice her world was alright. She
always spoke constantly about being back with her
“Boo” and re-united with her son. It was one of her
biggest desires and prayers. Rashaun always wanted
what was best for his mom. He stuck by his mothers
side no matter what and in her later years his desires
was for her not to suffer. Their relationship was that of
what a mother and son is defined, unconditional love.

Lyndal would later go on to become the community
caregiver. She also ran many errands for the seniors in
the area. Lyndal eventually became the neighborhood
aunt affectionately known as “Aunt Red” or “Red

There were several people & families that held a special
place in Aunt Red’s heart such as her best friend Page

Jasmine aka Pocahontas which was also her god daughter
who had a child named Chase Conde who also became
Lyndal's god-son/grandson and we can’t forget Deidre
Nelson aka Bozo.

Lyndal moving to New York at such a young age and with
the passing of her sister Joyce Creel Rosendary in 1993,
her brother-in-law Willie, her sister Birdie, nephew Tony,
all of Joyce’s children along with her son Rashaun
became her immediate family. Never forgetting her
several grand nieces and grand nephews, Aunt Red was
very proud of each and every one, especially her grand
nephew Claiborne aka Pookum, grand niece Autumn she
affectionately called Valerie and her main man Jaymee
who she called Doctor. Over the years Lyndal had several family caregivers due
to her health struggles. Such as her sister Rose Harris, nieces Jerusha Champ and Rosetta Rosendary-Phillips and her great niece Jasmine Brown-Creel and nephew Allan Brown-Midyette. In her last year of life
Lyndal was cared for by Jackqueline aka Jackie, her son
Makehi along with her friend Phil and the family dog
Fiesty who was a comfort to Lyndal.
We the family would like to thank Ms Jackqueline and
her family for the love and kindness extended to Lyndal
and may God enrich you greatly for your sacrifice.
