The life of Linda Denise Cunningham began on December 13, 1961. She was born by the union
of the late Robert Perry and Elaine Cunningham at Jacobi Hospital in Bronx, New York.
Linda grew up and lived over half of her life on Mapes Ave in the Bronx along with her great
grandparents, mother, father, 5 sisters, children, nieces, nephews and cousins. She attended the
neighborhood elementary school, junior high and went to Grace Dodge High School. She didn’t
complete high school but she did get her GED and attended Metropolitan College of New York.
While attending M.S. 129 junior high, she took dance lessons. Linda and her dance team
members went on to perform shows in front of their entire school and community. She was well
known as a top dancer and was favored like a daughter by her dance teacher.
Linda worked various jobs during her early years. But, during her later years she worked several
years as a Scheduler/Data Entry Specialist for Americare Inc and as a Case Manager
Technician/Community Follow Up Worker for Heartshare Human Services of New York.
Her life was one of love and lots of laughter. Linda was full of humor, almost always smiling,
laughing, had a passion for helping others and gave really good advice. She was very loving,
sweet, kind, caring, understanding and had a very good heart. Linda loved being around family,
making people laugh, dancing, singing, listening to music, EATING and mimicking people (all
in fun) in which she was very good at by the way. LINDA WAS A DANCING MACHINE and a
few of her favorite dance songs were “Get Up Offa That Thing” by James Brown and “Now That
We Found Love” by Heavy D & The Boyz. Lastly, she had a lot of faith in our God Jehovah and
loved to read the bible.
Unfortunately, Linda’s beautiful soul left us and this world on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Bronx,
New York. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by her family. She leaves behind
her son: Lavar Parron, daughter: Ellatisha Parron, granddaughters: Cristal Parron, Samauri
McMillan, Shamiya Parron and Nekyirah Parron, Sisters: Monique Cunningham, Jeanette
Cunningham, Phyllis Carr and Adrianne Edwards, Aunt: Ellen Orciani, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
