Bro. Kent M Brown

Kent Michael Brown,60, of New York, NY , passed away on Feb. 21, 2019 in Montefiore Hospital. The viewing will be held at the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, 545 west 155th st New York, NY , on Sat. March 2, 2019 at noon. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with T. Carrillo Funeral Service LLC handling the arrangements.

Kent was born in New York City Presbyterian Hospital to Naomi & Reginald Brown on June 9,1958. He graduated from Herndon High School in Herndon, Virginia in 1976. Kent attended Borough of Manhattan Community College earning certifications in information technologies. He worked as a Network Systems Analyst for various companies for 25 years. Kent enjoyed volunteering, one of his most recent commitments being Assistant Coach for Matt Haven Campus High School Boy’s Varsity Basketball team for a number of years. He received countless awards, certificates of appreciation, and trophies for his team’s victories, and was a dedicated member of the Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons at Samson Lodge and an alumni of the New York Pen & Scroll Cadet Corp (RatPatrol) Kent is survived by Rachelle Brown-Thomas (sister), Andre Foster (nephew), Antwanette Neal (niece), Vencent Thomas Jr. (nephew), Cheyanne Foster (great-niece), & Ashton Foster (great-nephew). He is preceded in death by his mother & father, Naomi & Reginald Brown. Memorial donations may be made to the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation, Inc 1301 20th Street, Suite 570 Santa Monica, CA, 90404 . The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Keelings. Kent’s God-Given family with whom he spent many joyful occasions as well as his final days. Kent was dedicated to The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge.
