Kendall Stukes

February 12, 1979 — March 27, 2025

Kendall Stukes, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born on February 12, 1979,
in Manhattan, NY, to Anita Christina Stukes and John Stukes.
He was raised at 825 Boynton Ave, also known as Lafayette ‘LIP,’ and he carried the
heart of the neighborhood in everything he did. The streets, the people, and the lessons
of Lafayette helped shape the man he became—grounded, strong, and real. He never
forgot where he came from, and in many ways, he never left it behind. Lafayette wasn’t
just a place; it was a part of his spirit.
A gentle giant with the heart of a lion, Kendall was a fierce protector of those he loved.
He was known in Lafayette as "Debo"—a man who never backed down and never
tolerated nonsense. Yet beneath his tough exterior was a man filled with humor, loyalty,
and an infectious energy that made him unforgettable.
He attended district schools P.S 93, C.S 152, and JHS 123, where he expressed his
deep appreciation for his neighborhood. From there, he attended DeWitt Clinton High
School, where he pursued his love of football.
As a young adult, Kendall worked alongside his father as a Janitor at Washington Irving
High School. After leaving that job, he began working in Construction until he was
diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite his condition, he remained a devoted father
and never let it stop him from cherishing time with his daughter.
He had a deep love for sports, especially track and basketball. A die-hard fan of the
Chicago Bulls—though he occasionally cheered for Boston—he never missed a chance
to debate the greatest players of all time. His roots traced back to Trinidad and Tobago
through his beloved mother, and he carried that culture with pride.
Kendall leaves behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and love. While his presence will
be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Kendall was predeceased by his beloved mother, Anita whom he adored. He is survived
by his daughter Keyona Stukes, his father John Stukes, his brother Sean D. Ferdinand,
his sister Jennifer McCarthy and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rest easy, Debo. Your strength and love will never be forgotten!
