Jeanette Turner

Jeanette Turner was born in New York City on December 7, 1945 to John and Novella Turner. She
departed this life in New York City on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the age of 76 years old.

Jeanette attended Washington Irving High School, where she studied fashion, and photography.
Graduating with the determination to change the world or at least make it a place where women not
only persevered but had more than just a chance, through opportunity and exposure, to find success.
Her fashion career path led to her becoming a merchandise buyer for B. Altman and Company
department store.

As the fourth oldest of 10 children, Jeanette took her role as the oldest very seriously.  Even as a teen
she took on the mothering role with her siblings and later with their children. Although, Jeanette never
married nor did she have any children, she willingly assisted in raising her extended family and was more
than happy to be the central figure--the ROCK for her family. Under her loving and protective wing, she
shared her passionate hobbies of photography and travel, and expressed the love of her fashion work
with all.  Always putting others first, she was the ROCK for her family.

Jeanette loved all kinds of music.  Her favorite music genre was ole school soul. Some of the lyrics
expressed a passion for love, acceptance of all people with kindness, honesty and strength thats how
she lived her life just so.

Anyone that knew Jeanette knew that she had a strong belief in GOD,  she was strict, and made sure
that you stayed true to your word.  This was her love language.

She leaves behind five siblings: Abbey, Gerald (Jerry), Farrell, Cheryl and Karen.  As well as a host of
beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
