Jayden Isaiah Mejia was born in New York City, NY on the joyous day of May 7, 2007. From the moment Jayden graced the world with his presence, his infectious smile, precious voice and tender embrace brought an abundance of bliss into the lives of his parents, Marlo Mejia and Martyna Bush, as well as all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jayden was a warm, handsome, kind and bright soul who lit up the room with his vibrant energy. As his father’s youngest child and only son, and as the middle child among his maternal siblings, Jayden’s uniqueness made him one of a kind.
He was intelligent and inquisitive, caring and charismatic, honest and humble, wise and well-spoken, relatable and understanding, funny and witty, and made his family and friends laugh with his silly and joking demeanor. He loved the action of watching anime, the excitement of playing video games on his Xbox and the fulfillment of eating his favorite foods.
When Jayden wasn't creating memories with his brothers and sisters, whom he loved so dearly, he'd nurture and care for his pets the same way his dad and family nurtured and cared for him. Jayden’s dad was always in awe of his gifted son; his observant nature, the knowledge he possessed and Jayden’s fascination and his ability to offer different perspectives of viewing the world. And although he was younger, Jayden was always protective of his sister and other siblings.
Aside from his family, Jayden was deeply loved and greatly admired by the countless friends and acquaintances he made throughout his life. Jayden graduated from P.S. 49 Willis Avenue School and Bronx Academy for Multi-Media in New York City, where he made a significant impact on the lives of teachers, staff and students. As an aspiring General of the Army, Jayden was preparing for the long road ahead of him and was excited to pursue his dreams of joining the military and serving our country.
Hopeful for a fruitful future filled with opportunity and prosperity, Jayden and his family relocated from New York City, NY to Baltimore, MD, where he most recently attended Loch Raven High School. Jayden easily overcame the challenges of getting accustomed to a new city, effortlessly excelled academically and won the hearts of many who so quickly gravitated towards his friendly persona in just a year. His peers described him as an amazing friend who was emphatic, considerate, brave, forgiving, hilarious and encouraging.
Jayden is predeceased by his great grandmother, Paulina Mejia Sabio, and great grandfather, Quentin Cacho. Jayden is survived by his father, Marlo Mejia, mother, Martyna Bush, sister, Emani Williams, his grandmother, Martha Mejia, his grandfather, Candido Santos, his aunts, Ana Guity and Pauline Santos, his uncles, Olvan Guity, Josue Mejia, and Candido Santos, and several cousins, extended family members and friends.
