Ernest Anders, Jr. was born May 7th, 1931, in Tylertown, MS to parents, Ernest and Ollie Mae Anders. He was the third eldest of ten children.
Sadly, April 18, 2024, around 10:00 AM he departed this life at his home in the Bronx, with his daughter Ebony right by his side.
Early in life, Ernest worked the farmland of his father in Louisiana. After leaving Louisiana in the 1950’s, he moved to New York. In New York, Ernest was employed at Mechanical Mirrors located in the Bronx. He took great pride in perfecting his craft. Ernest later retired in the late 90's. During his retirement, he loved bowling and taking long road trips. He'd drive from New York to Louisiana with ease. He'd say, "I can do that drive with my eyes closed.
Ernest was an alpha male. He was an example of a hard worker. A man of few words, but when he did speak, you better listen. He was a man with an honest tongue. He said what he meant, and he meant what he said.
Ernest enjoyed being around family and sipping Bacardi (if you know, you know), and playing Wii.
Ernest leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Cynthia McDaniel-Anders, his three daughters, Diane Anders-Joe, Marshae Reed and Ebony Anders, and son Derrick Anders; four sisters, Charlean Andrews (Chicago, Il), Faycene Dunham (Franklinton, LA), Helen Anders (D'iberville, MS), and Annette Mingo (Milwaukee, WI); five grand-children and seven great-grand-children; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Also, we would like to acknowledge the love and care of Lori Lebron, his home nurse.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Anders, Sr.; his mother, Ollie Mae Anders; his son Darryl Anders, three brothers, Melvin Anders, Charles Anders and Jewell Anders; two sisters, Etta Ruth Anders Dungey and Irma Anders Brumfield.
