Elwin L Middleton

Elwin Leapold Middleton was born to the late James and Esmie Middleton on December 10th, 1941 in Belize City. He has one deceased brother Harry Middleton Sr. and one surviving brother Harcoutt Middleton, one deceased sister Myrna Smith and four surviving sisters Ilna Acosta, Yvonne Messiah, Jean Bryant and Sandra Arnold.

Elwin received his early education from St. John’s School In Belize. After his school years he became a bartender and had his first daughter who is deceased, Beverly Wagner. Then came his only son Elwin Jr Middleton.

He Moved to New York City in 1962 where his youngest daughter Yvonne Maria Middleton was born. Elwin worked as a successful auto mechanic for over 30 years . He retired at the age of 60 to enjoy the rest of his days with his family and friends who he loved dearly.

Elwin was the grandfather to not only his grandchildren, but to most kids and young adults in his neighborhood. People would gravitate towards his warming energy and called him “grandpa” whether it was biological or not. He was a father figure for everyone showing compassion and concern for others. He made sure that no dadq kids were left without ice cream any time it came around and kept all other things ina order.

Elwin was satisfied with the simple things of life like being able to laugh with his family and enjoying nice weather. He played lotto three times a day and drank his beer as if it was his religion.  He loved to watch his sports but the Yankees was who he lived by. Black and white westerns was also one his daily favorites. Elwin did not belong to a church but did believe in Christianity.

Elwin made his transition in The Bronx while at Montifiore Hospital on February 18, 2021. He leaves to mourn many close friends and relatives including several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His loving companion, Bernadine Warner. His four sisters and two brothers. His Children, Elwin Middleton Jr. and Yvonne Maria Middleton. His Grand children, Mark Wagner Jr., Monique Wagner, Arron Wagner, Travis Humes, Chelsea Wagner and Kobe Brockman. Great grand children, Dante Wagner, Kennedy Donaldson, Tayden Humes and Madison Kouyate.
