On February 12, 2022, God in his infinite wisdom called to eternal rest our beloved Earl Jamar Carroll. Earl was born in The Bronx, NY, on December 10, 1998 to Irma K Branch-Carroll and Earl K. Carroll. Earl was affectionately known as “EJ”. As a child, EJ was quiet, observant and never missed a beat. He loved being outside playing basketball, riding his scooter and water activities. EJ also loved wrestling and had quite a collection of action figures. EJ loved music and although he didn’t dance, he did manage to get a two step together to make it look like he could.EJ was educated in the NYC public school system. He proudly graduated from New Visions Charter High School for the Humanities in 2016. EJ attended Onondaga Community College in New York. Afterwards, EJ worked with developmentally disabled consumers until 2018 when he moved to Charlotte, NC. EJ worked at Fed Ex, Charlotte Douglas Airport, Security Firms, installing fiber optic HVAC, construction. EJ enjoyed working in HVAC and construction. He enjoyed learning new skills, working at various sites and networking. Prior to his passing, EJ started in the digital marketing field. He was doing what young men do….find their way!EJ was an “old soul” to everyone that knew him. As his older Brother, Dante would often say..” EJ thought he was the Big Brother!” EJ’s smile lit up the room and his laugh always made you laugh even when you didn’t catch the funny! :) EJ loved spending time with his family. As an avid basketball lover, EJ would often volunteer as a Coach for his little Brother Aree’s basketball team. Aree enjoyed this for the most part because he always gave him positive energy and skills to score. Aside from basketball, EJ also enjoyed playing video games online with his Brothers, Nephews and Friends.EJ was full of life. He was a Good Son, Brother, Uncle, friend and an overall “Good Guy”. He was optimistic, logical and prided himself on being a peacemaker and the protector of everyone. “Everyone!”.....Ej would do anything he could to make sure his family and friends were good. Ej touched so many people during his short time here. Our beloved Earl, EJ, Big Bro, Lil Bro, TuTu will forever be loved and missed. He had a strong impact on us all. He will continue to live in our hearts, smiles as souls as we continue to honor and celebrate him. #ForeverEJSurviving to emulate Earl’s tremendous caring heart, amazing luminous smile, and Christ like spirit are his Parents: Irma K.
