Dianne Moses-Timmons was born on August 26, 1949 in Sumter, South Carolina to Hallie and Addie Moses. She was reared by her grandparents, Ozie and Esther Rouse, Sr. On November 6, 2021, Dianne departed this life at the age of 72.
Dianne endured many challenges of county life. As a young person, she learned how to pick cotton. She also enjoyed the comforts of good southern cooking and hospitality. She attended Sumter County Schools and graduated from Eastern High School. After graduation, Dianne relocated to Bronx, NY supported by various family members. Eventually, she secured a job as a Resident Therapist for the Disabled population and worked her way up to a Supervisory position.
Dianne returned to Sumter to care for her ailing grandmother, Esther "Mama" Rouse approximately seventeen years ago. Dianne became an active member of Clark United Methodist Church until her death. She was a member of the Stewardess Board, United Methodist Women, Single Ministry and Senior Ministry. Approximately one year ago, shortly after being baptized, Dianne returned to Bronx, NY where she resided in a Studio Apartment in Assisted Living. She enjoyed playing Solitaire, Bingo, perusing Facebook and watching Wrestling and old Westerns. She brought joy to many people with her no-nonsense straight talk and humor. She truly loved her family and her church.
Dianne is survived by two children, Latondra M. Black, Bronx, NY and Gregory L. Moses, Pensacola, Fl; two uncles, Ozie (Margie) Rouse Jr., Sumter, SC and Allen Rouse, Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Jeanette Moses (James) Holmes; two brothers, Jerel (Delphinia) Moses and Quincy (Carmen) Moses; one sister in-law, Mary Moses- all from Sumter, SC; grandsons, Jaquan M. Stroud, Bronx, NY and Darius Taylor-Black, Bronx, NY; Gaven Moses, Sumter, SC; granddaughter, Brianna Moses, Bronx, NY and adopted grandchildren Elijah and Keviyona, Sumter, SC; ten nieces, four nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Dianne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ozie and Esther Rouse, Sr.; her parents, Hallie and Addie Moses; her uncle Isaac Rouse; her brother, Larry Moses and her sister, Alberetta Princetta Moses Golden.
