David Rowan, of Harlem, New York passed away in his home on July 10th at the age of 53. David was born in Philadelphia on November 4, 1967, he was the youngest son of Joan Faye Hasbourne and William Rowan Bromfield. As a youth, Dave always enjoyed being with friends, listening to music and had some dreams of travel.
David attended the Parson School of Design, NYC. There he honed in on an undeniable knack for fashion and his notorious people skills. This combination lead him to a fashion career for over thirty years. David did travel abroad to a few countries and through out the United States for work as well as personal travel.
David’s heart belonged to his son Baron and Harlem. He created Sincerely Harlem to bring back the stories, events and feelings of Harlem. Nothing meant more to David than to create something and share it with others. He loved to post to his site after developing a story of an old time Harlem. He also enjoyed finding out an amazing fact and/or information about Harlem.
David is survived by his son Baron, brother Derek, sisters Deidre and Dani, uncle Charles Hasbourne, aunt Johnnie Rothery, nieces Ariana Faye Mann, Harper and Carter Mann, Toni and Tori DaCosta, many cousins Tiffany Hasbourne, Warren E Huguet, Pat E. Hodges and Tamashi C. Fox, Cheryll Rothery, Lorenzo Rothery, Sabrina Walker, Sydete Jenkins, a core group of men who were his brothers and countless number of friends.
We are sorrowful to see him go after a four and a half year battle with colon cancer, yet grateful to know he is on a different path that is leading him to his promise land.
