Clinton George Campbell a.k.a. “Wyah” a.k.a "Cracka Jack" was born on February 3, 1957 to parents Leonard Campbell and Edith Williams in the Nugent Rd., District of Ewarton Saint Catherine, Jamaica West Indies.
Clinton was the first of eight children between his parents and received his earliest childhood education at Miss Hopey’s Infant School in his local area.He then attended the Ewarton Primary School where he excelled and was promoted to the Ewarton Secondary School, now known as Ewarton High.
After leaving high school at the Grade 9 Level, Clinton went out into the world as a young adult who became a Skilled Mechanic and Licensed Truck Driver.
In the late 1970s Clinton started working at his Aunt’s Bakery as a part-time Baker and Driver. Quickly excelling in the family owned bakery and being known for his kind personality, dependability and trustworthiness; Clinton was loved by everyone and became a local celebrity. His Aunt realizing his dedication and talent, promoted him to be her Business Supervisor. There is where he developed his lifelong love for cooking and baking.
In 1988 Clinton left Jamaica and migrated to the United States where he was reunited with his father. Shortly after his arrival in the US Clinton begin a new career in Construction, working for brothers Solomon and Nolly Cromwell of Cromwell Builders Inc..
Now employed and established, Clinton settled in Bronx, New York where he met and fell in love with Sharon Graham. The two were married and their loving union produced a son named Kyle.
Retiring from construction in 2005 Clinton was once again able to pursue his love for all things culinary when his friends for over 20 years Bam and Duece opened the Good Dine Restaurant on White Plains Road. There Clinton more affectionately known as “Wyah” worked as the Restaurant Manager and continued to be a staple in the Bronx neighborhood until May of this year when he was diagnosed and rapidly succumbed to lung cancer.
Clinton "Wyah" Campbell is survived by his wife Sharon, his son Kyle, sisters Joan, Desreen, Lyn, and Rose, brother Dwight and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
