Cleon Nigel Bernard was born in Kingston Jamaica on October 14, 1963 to Millicent “Millie” Joy-Jones, Born Safer Boothe and Mervyn Bernard Jones. In 197 2 Cleon came to America with his parents and his siblings. As a child, Cleon was full of energy and zest for life and loved beautiful women. In spite of having moderate education, Cleon did not let that get in the way of his ambition in hopes to one day become successful. He was no stranger to hard work. Cleon worked hard and was self taught in numerous trades he picked up along the way of his mentors. Cleon became chief of construction engineering.
Cleon was dedicated to his mother until her passing. During that time, he became a lot closer to his older brother Desmond who he continued to speak and keep in contact with everyday. He found comfort and a sense of proudness in his five children. Cleon and Antwan who is the oldest of the five are so much alike that they bumped heads often, but there was never a prouder moment than to be their father. Cleon was very proud of all of his children, his prayer was to have all of his children and grandchildren come together. He boasted about each one and how they were all the same but yet so different. Antwan being the family man and being so involved in all his children's lives moved him. Cleon his name sake who is the second oldest, although so much time has passed he was grateful God kept him all of these years and blessed him and his family. Kareem is the third child and doesn't express himself much.Cleon learned so much about Kareem through his music, he would watch his videos and research him on youtube. Cleon was very thrilled when he had his fourth child, a daughter. His only daughter Omega who is just as head strong as her father gave him a run for his money. Up until the day he passed he still viewed her as his baby girl who he used to buy dresses and matching headbands for. He always told her she was the princess and all her brothers will always protect her even if he is not around. Then there was Nigel, the baby of the five, very intellectual and analytical. Nigel kept him on his toes. He is so young but very wise for his age, it amazed him. Cleon was never ready to see his children grow up. He was especially proud of his seven grand kids. Diamond, Antwan Jr, Anaya, Jeremiah, Brianna, Lamell Jr, and Nalani .
Cleon worked every day of his life. Where he finally found what he loved in construction and God. Cleon always admitted to not being the perfect Man, Father and Sibling but with God he was striving for perfection. He could not escape with both of his brothers Georgi who he lost a few years early and Desmond, his big brother who he found a true friend in and could confide in without being judged. There were times he would express how much he missed his brother Aldin and Alex and last but not least Mervyn who always looked for help and protection at all times. Mervyn and Cleon were so much alike they hardly got along but that never changed the love he had for him and anytime his little brother needed him he would always try to be there in some way shape or form. One thing most people did not know about Cleon was that he was an excellent cook. He used to be a chef and make all kinds of delicious delicacies.
