“Eulogy”

There is no death, only a change of worlds, Chief Seattle

Claudious Alexander Henry was born on August 11, 1965 in Forest Gate, East London, England to late Bernice Henry and John Henry.  He was the ninth child of his mother, and the third child for his father. He attended Upton Cross infant and primary school, then attended Lister Comprehensive secondary school, and finished in 1981. He attended a welding school in London for a short while. He then migrated to the United States on March 26, 1982 when he was 16 years old, with his parents and three other siblings.

In the United States, Claudious continued his trade by attending Apex Technical School where he received a certificate in welding. He was working as a van messenger while attending school. He got a job in the welding field. A short while later, he was introduced to the electrician field by a family member.  He attended the Union Trade School, Teamsters Local 363, and he received an electrician certificate.  He passed the apprenticeship and he received his certificate. He worked as an electrician for thirty-four years.

He was known for being kind, respectable, humble, jovial, kind-hearted, he was your confidant.  He loved music, especially reggae music and dancing.  Claudious had a deep love of reggae music from the early days of  growing up in England, surrounded also by the culture of sound systems. When he migrated to America he still had the DNA was deeply imprinted within his soul along with his brother and cousins, also from England, they formed their own sound system, and many memories and relationships were formed from the many venues and activities that they performed over the years which became a foundation for many relationships & memories which were created over many years that the music.  Stemming from our father who was a sound man and played his reggae records all the time.

It wasn’t strange for him to be recognized in the area where he lived because of He’s contribution to The sound system culture Studio love was the name of the system that was formed in the basement of the home he lived Which went on to be known throughout the area for many years after.  A drum machine was added during the tenure of the Studio Love sound system that claudi played.  His love of music was the passion and his driving force and he would always be remembered for that.

He loved playing and watching football (soccer).  He was always wearing a football top. He was a spiritual person and very knowledgeable.  He enjoyed his his Bob Marley activities. He was a good cook, and his specialty was goat soup and jerk chicken.  He loved to travel and rarely missed our annual family trips.

He was a family man who loved and adored his children, and he would do anything for them. He had four children, Christopher Henry, Brittany Henry, Aleeyah Henry, Daniel Henry, and bonus daughter Kenice Williams. He was married to Netitia Henry for fifteen years.

He was a good son, brother, uncle, husband, cousin, and friend.  A great father fought to be in each and every one of his children’s lives when; with his family by his side, he never let anybody or anything come between himself and his children. A true family man, stepping up where others would fumble. Strong, and full of wisdom that he selflessly passed on to everybody that he encountered.  He was the calm to the storm, when you needed him to be, a man that could make you laugh, and find the positive in any situation. “Fink positive” he would say.  He loved talking, and would say, “each one teach one.”  He craved knowledge of the truth and was always seeking and sharing the information.

Claudi had a fantastic memory, he would tell us about something when we grew up, and say, you don’t remember that, you don’t remember anything, lol.  He will be missed for many things and this is one of them.

On Saturday, May 8 th , 2021, Claudious Henry departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father John Henry; his wife Netitia Henry, children, Christopher Henry, Brittany Henry, Aleeyah Henry, Daniel Henry, and Kenice Williams; sisters and brothers, Vivette Neale, Shooks Monroe, Ewan Simms, Doreen Ambrose, Audrey Borland, Noreen Henry, and Margaret Green; numerous nieces and nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews, many cousins, aunts and uncle, and friends. Overall, Claudious was a wonderful person and if you were lucky to meet him, you left feeling good.  He was sincere and had a beautiful soul with a good heart.  His life was filled with love and kindness, he will be genuinely missed. We know he would not want us to wallow in our sadness. Claudious will be greatly missed, he is in a better place, and we will continue to keep fond memories of him. May the soul of Claudious Alexander Henry continue to rest in eternal peace until we meet again.
