Clarence Bryant affectionately known as “Heavy” transitioned on December 8, 2021. He was born January 5, 1961, in Panola, Alabama. At an early age, he moved with his family to Yonkers, N.Y. where he attended and graduated from the Yonkers Public School system. It was there, that Heavy discovered his love of all thing’s basketball. He was a natural ballplayer and a true die-hard Knicks fan. Along with basketball, Heavy was a natural with cultivating plants and landscaping. He could grow a garden out of one twig, earning a certificate as a horticulturist. Shortly after graduating High School, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp serving his country for four years. For many years, Heavy worked as a security officer at Manhattanville College, White Plains, N.Y., and Con Edison. In the early 80’s he would meet and marry the love of his life, Jean. Heavy and Jean would spend over forty years of their lives together, and to that union their son Sean was born. Heavy loved his family, dearly. You were sure to have a good time at their home with laughter, music, and good food. No one was a stranger. Many of his childhood friends would be his lifelong friends to the end of his journey. He also shared a special bond with his niece, Monique Kouyate. Heavy was an avid reader. He was knowledgeable of many topics and could debate with the best of them. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, and had a passion for fishing. He had aninfectious smile, laughter, and a great sense of humor. Heavy loved living life, just as much as he loved a cold beer in hishand, and that is why he will be sorely missed by many. Heavy leaves to mourn; his loving wife Jean; son Sean (Kassie); granddaughter Peyton, who he adored; two sisters, Faye and Geraldine (Reginald) both of Georgia; brother Clinton (Marva) of Bronx, NY; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Messiah and Sandra (Raymond) Arnold both of Belize; two aunts, Lena R. Santos of Yonkers, NY and Maddie Ray of White Plains, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jake and Lillie R.
