Charles Edward Hodges Jr. was born in The Bronx, New York. He was the first son of nine children born to his late beloved parents, Marjorie Anthony Hodges and Charles Edward Hodges Sr. Charles grew up in The Bronx and Queens-Bridge, NY, where he attended school until he was accepted to the prestigious Art and Design High School in Manhattan, NY where he graduated with hours at the top tier of his class. Afterward, he continued his studies at Manhattan College.
Following college, he found work in the industry he loved working in Art, Graphic Design, and Advertising in NYC, the city, and his heart pulsed in rhythm to the beat of NYC. Charles had a love of the finer things in life like Art, Wine, Cigars, Fine Food, and Fashion, he was truly a distinguished gentleman. His hobbies were doing portrait art, history, and languages. During any visit, he would tell a story about history with a passion and flare that could only come from the heart of a talented storyteller. After retiring, he worked in Renovation and Design Repair for Residential projects, again making use of his creative talents. He loved to read and learn new things. Of all the things that Charles loved, his family was that which he loved the most, and would always make time for family, especially his nephews and nieces. While not having any children of his own, he became a second father, mentor, and friend to all of his sibling's children. He was a kind person who would always have time to lend a listening ear and made you feel better after spending time with him. He spent every day trying to make the world a better place. The world needs the sunshine he gave to all of our lives, and we will miss him deeply.
Rest in Peace
