It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother,
Barbara Jean Patterson, on February 13, 2025. She was a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, leaving behind an
enduring legacy of love and warmth. Barbara was the proud mother of five
children, one of whom tragically passed away in 1990. At one point, she raised all
five children on her own, ensuring they were well taken care of with unwavering
love, dedication, and strength. Her kindness extended beyond her immediate
family; she was a beacon of support to anyone in need, always ready to offer a
helping hand and open her heart to those who needed it. Barbara was known for
her sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh around her. Whether it was
through witty remarks, or just her presence, she made every moment brighter.
Barbara had a way of lighting up any room she entered. Her joyful spirit and caring
nature touched the lives of all who knew her. There wasnt a person she met who
didn't love her. She loved spending time with family, solving crossword puzzles,
and simply enjoying life’s small pleasures. Her home was a place of comfort, and
everyone cherished her company. She was also famous for her Mac and Cheese—a
dish that no one could replicate and that brought joy to many gatherings.
Barbara leaves behind a large and loving family: her children Tyrone Health, Tania
Patterson, Crystal Patterson, Janelle Patterson and son-in-law Lamond White;
grandchildren Ravon White, Tyrone Health Jr., Tysean Health, Talia Health,
Destiny Washington, and Yvette White; brothers Isacc Patterson and Lee Patterson;
great-grandchildren Alani Heath and Tysean Health Jr. niece Melody Williams;
nephew Eddie J. Williams, Lee Patterson Jr., and Christopher Patterson; great-
nephew Richard Nathaniel, Noah Patterson great-niece Quiana-joy Ochiagha;
Isabelle Patterson, Paris Correa, great great nephew Sjef Richard Nathaniel, aunts
Lula Sanders, Rose Magee and Virgina Williams, (Aunt Jenny); and a host of other
family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She will be reuniting with Mother Martha Patterson, Sister Virgina Williams
Brother, John Patterson and Daughter Yvette Michelle Patterson. Rest in peace,
Mom. You will always be loved and never forgotten. Her love, laughter, and
warmth will live on in our hearts forever.
