Barbara Ann James
The Pinkster
Barbara was born September 20, 1958 , eighth child of the late Robert and Rosalee James, in Bronx New York. Although she fought with dignity and grace she lost the battle to sickness on December 14, 2021.
Barbara, mother of three, was a huge personality in her family. She named herelf the Pinkster because she recognized herself as a leader not a follower. She had a smile that could light up a room. Her humor and wit made her a woman who always spoke her mind and did what she wanted unapologetically.
Becoming a mother again later in life with her third child motivated her to use those leadership qualities and become an example to her family. She went on to receive her High School Diploma and get a degree in Business then obtained jobs in the administrative field her last being Court Clerk at the Criminal Justice Court of NYC.
Barbara, "Pinky", also loved to party and to give one. She would supply everything all you had to do was show up with tupperware and a smile. Needless to say she will be sorely missed but forever engraved in our hearts.
Pinky leaves behind to mourn; two daughters, Shameika and Ramona James of North Carolina, one son, Jabar T. James of Bronx New York, Two sisters, Jean Beasley and Rosalyn Prunty, one brother, Harold James, Two granddaughters, Shaquanda Autry-Smith and Al-Shia James-Toomer, six great grandsons, one great granddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
