Amanda Inez Conyers, also known as Mandy, passed away on June 22, 2023, in Manhattan, New York at
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She was 53 years old.
She was born on September 9, 1969, in the Bronx, New York. She attended CS 6 and CES 63 for primary school,
and later graduated from Morris High School. Throughout her life, she attended a few college classes.
Mandy spent her entire career being a devoted mother while also working as a security guard for reputable
companies which allowed her to demonstrate her remarkable communication skills and conciliatory attitude.
She spent her last few years working at the Children's Museum of Manhattan.
As we celebrate her life we can’t forget about her strongest attribute, which was her sense of humor. Her smile
and fearless personality was contagious.
Amanda Inez Conyers, when you see this name understand she was someone who would give her last. An
amazing mom who did her best with what she had; and a darn good Grandma. She was a comedian and knew
how to use her sentence “enhancers” very well. So when you hear this name 5 children plus a grand stands
behind it and will protect her legacy.
Mandy was a woman of many hobbies and interests. She loved art, crocheting, playing video games, and
watching her favorite television shows. She was also a huge sports fanatic; of course, her favorite team was the
New York Knicks. Above all leisure activities, nothing was more important to her than spending time with her
children and embracing her only grandson, Mekhi, with hugs and kisses. Mandy was also known for her love of
cooking. Her smoked neck bones were a favorite among her family and friends. In her early childhood, she was a
talented artist who won several prizes for drawing “Tippy the Turtle” as well as other art contests. She would
rush home from school to watch the intro of Bugs and Daffy-Tea for Two Tap Dance just to perform along with
them in front of the television. She was the best at challenging her siblings with the Rubik's Cube and the game
'Simon Says,” while eating her favorite snack of shelled salted sunflower seeds.
Mandy was a very outgoing and friendly person, and her love for her children, grandson, and family was
immeasurable. She leaves to cherish her memories five children; her daughters, Daisha Conyers, Georgianna
Conyers, Minnie Conyers and her sons, Michael Conyers and Geoffory Conyers, all from Bronx, New York; and
one grandson, Mekhi Adkins of Harlem, NY. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Conyers-Turner of Bronx, NY; her
brothers, Richard Conyers (Sarah) of San Diego, CA; James Conyers Jr of Bakersfield, CA; and Samuel Conyers
(Tametra) of Bronx, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mandy was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Lee Conyers, and her father, James Albert Conyers Sr.
Rest in peace, Mandy. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you.
