Alyson Belizaire

May 5, 1955 — January 26, 2022

Heaven gained an angel when Alyson Belizaire, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt,
and friend suddenly passed away at the age of 66. Alyson grew up in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
She was the third of six children born to Harry and Aldyth Patrick.
Devoted to her four children, Alyson became a businesswoman and entrepreneur to support her
family. It was here that she cultivated many lifelong friendships. This entrepreneurial spirit led to
her opening her own store, which created many opportunities for her to travel to various
countries to include Venezuela, Curaçao, and the United States.
In 1993, Alyson migrated to the United States to create a better life for her children, and it was
there she met her husband of 29 years, Ronald Belizaire. Ronald and Alyson settled in Bronx,
New York. While there she worked as a childcare provider and earned her certification as a
Certified Nursing Assistant.
Alyson was most happy when she was baking and cooking. She especially loved baking fruit
cakes, making pepper sauce and other delicacies from Trinidad. While she loved being
Trinidadian, her proudest moment was when she became a citizen of the United States and as she
eloquently put it “she was free at last”.
Alyson attended Mt, Zion CME church. She loved serving God. Every year her mission involved
creating easter baskets for the innocent children in her church. It was her pride and joy.
Alyson will be dearly missed and is survived in legacy by husband Ronald Belizaire; children:
Celsus Patrick, Cara (Nigel) Patrick, Nateisha (Markel) Hall, and Curtrice (Demarcus) Horton;
grandchildren:  Clevon Patrick, Brad Patrick, Bradley Patrick, Nevaeh Grant, Kiara Patrick,
Keanna Davis-Guerra, Kiaune Davis-Guerra, Jahari Hall, Amelia Horton, and Zola Hall; in-
laws: Nancy Mathews, Carmel Matthews, Anthony Belizaire, Lesly Belizaire and Julie Spitzer; siblings:
Harold Patrick, Judith Paris, Glennis-Ann Joseph, and Bryan Patrick. As well as extended family
in the Patrick family, Joseph family, Lyons family, Belizaire family, along with countless
friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Harry and Aldyth Patrick and her sister Celestine
Headley.
All who knew her loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm and undying
love and caring for them.
