Alexis "Kermit" Jeffers

March 14, 1967 — July 19, 2022

Alexis “Kermit” Dennison Jeffers passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 after a battle with lung cancer at NY Presbytarian Hospital- St. Lawrence in White Plains.  Alexis was born on the island of St. Kitts to Denise Herbert and Ronald “Shorty” Jeffers on March 14, 1967.  Alexis was a man of many talents and his curiosity to learn led him to many experiences and opportunities.  In his last post he held the title of Supervisor of Fire and Emergency Services where he was employed for the last 5 years.  Alexis had many hobbies and talents some of which included playing many instruments including the guitar, piano, steel pan, and drums. As a youth on the island he was a drummer for the St, Kitts & Nevis Defense Force before migrating to New York where he has called home for over 30 years.  Alexis loved to travel and when he was able to he did not hesitate to show up.  He was fortunate to have had the opportunity to do most of his international traveling with his brother Glen.  He often reminisced about running the Bronx early on with his other brother Gregory and close friend Maurice.  Alexis thirsted for more fun times like these even as he was ailing.  He was a New Yorker in spirit but loved St. Kitts and his family. Alexis is a proud graduate of CUNY Baruch and lived his life furthering his knowledge with continued education classes to satisfy his educational needs and his curious nature.  Alexis was often the life of every party.  His sense of humor tended to lighten the mood and spirit of others around him.  He was brutally honest with his position on issues and would research all of the information he needed to defend himself in any discussion.  He lived his life at the beat of his own drums and loved his family to his core. He loved talking on the phone about any issue that came to his mind.  His favorite aunt Julie was often the target for such heated discussions and laughs where he would end his conversations with his favorite saying “It is what it is”.
Alexis is predeceased by his brother Javon, He is survived by his mother Denise; his father Ronald; his brothers- Gregory, Glen, Kevin, Jervis, and Ababa; sisters- Sharon and Daniel; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

is planted.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

3:35: Second Scripture Reading: Romans 8 verses 35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
