Arthur Hubert Mcdonald Maynard

Arthur Maynard, affectionately known to family members and close friends as Lizzy, was born inSt. Andrew, Barbados on April 10, 1961 to Gloria Maynard and the late Fitzgerald Vaughan. He was oneout of 14 children.Arthur attended Bawden Elementary School. On completing school, he took a job with the BarbadosDepartment of Agriculture and later worked in the hotel industry. He was a hard worker, and alwaysstrived to better himself.In 1979 he met Maria through a mutual friend, and their union has been a great love story since then.Maria migrated to The United states in December of 1990, and Arthur closely followed her in May of1991. He and Maria were married on March 2, 1992, and from their union they have three wonderfulchildren, two sons, Quentin and Kerry, and a beautiful daughter, Tiffany. The type of father Arthur was isevidenced by their admiration, love and respect for him in everything they say and do.Arthur had a voracious appetite for learning new things, and taught himself to be a plumber andelectrician. He knows how to repair any type of electronic device, amongst other things. He was trulygifted, and was more knowledgeable than some who went to advanced schools to learn these things. Henever said no to any request for assistance, and for friends and family, always refused to let us pay forhis services. He was always courteous and respectful, a gentle man who left a positive impression oneveryone who met him.Arthur used his gifted hands to provide for his family, working at a variety of jobs, until eventually takinga job with The Department of Education in February 2004.Maria would always have conversations about how gifted Arthur was, and she would say “there isnothing my husband cannot do”. Maria truly felt it, and many times said to her children “I feel daddy canmake a man, but the only problem that we would have is that he wouldn’t be able to breathe life intoit”.Arthur leaves behind his amazing mother Gloria Maynard, wonderful wife Maria, his three childrenQuentin, Kerry and Tiffany, three grandchildren Quentin Jr., Elijah and Cameron, 12 siblings, 9 nieces, 5Nephews & family, including Christopher, Anthony, Winfield and Simon & 4 more wonderful cousinswho he Loved dearly. Also left to mourn is the entire staff of MS302, including his boss and directcoworkers, Pastor Farley and family & Pastor Gomez. A host of best friends including The Osbourne’s ,The Hinkson’s , Havon and The Laird & family, Sally Worrell, Patricia Murrell & family, The Classonfamily, Joseph Glading, and other friends including the Church Of The Abiding Presence family, hisbrothers and sisters in Christ The Canaan Land Church family, the Nelson, Herbert and Henry families.He will be greatly missed.
