Mable Skeete

October 2, 1932 — August 21, 2014

Mable Skeete was born in Sparta, Georgia on October 2, 1932 to the late Lula Mitchell. She married Julius Marcus Skeete on June 18, 1960 and was his loving wife for 35 years prior to his passing in November, 1995. Mable was the proud mother of two sons Dr. Julius N. Skeete and Kashim M. Skeete. She was the eldest sister to her deceased two younger brothers, Luther Mosley and Phil Gentry. Mable migrated to New York City to live with her mother and siblings when she was 14 years old where she made Bronx, New York her home until 2006. She relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 2007 and just recently to Olathe, Kansas in 2014. After graduating from high school, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Metropolitan Hospital in New York for approximately 10 years. She was a member of First Sharon Baptist Church on 116th Street in Harlem where she served as an usher and choir member. She reaffirmed her commitment to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through water baptism at Genesis Full Life Church in San Antonio, TX in 2012. Mable was a faithful member at this church until her passing. To carry on her legacy, Mable is survived by two sons: Dr. Julius N. Skeete of Georgia and his wife Susan Kimber-Skeete and Kashim M. Skeete of Illinois and his wife Dr. Teressa Skeete. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Ryan Anthony, age 32, Alexandria Theresa, age 23, the twins, Faith DeShawn and Marcus Jeremiah, age 12 and Jordan Nicole, age 11; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and countless friends.
